ACXIT Capital Partners opens New York office and welcomes Dr. Michael W. Ernestus as head of its U.S. practice
ACXIT Capital Partners, a leading independent European corporate finance and investment advisory firm, is pleased to announce its office opening in New York, and the addition of Managing Partner Dr. Michael W. Ernestus to head its transatlantic practice.
ACXIT Capital Partners’ transatlantic cross-border deal flow has steadily grown over the last few years, resulting in more complex and increasingly larger international transactions. To further advance its transatlantic expansion and to better service its international clientele, ACXIT Capital Partners has now opened a New York presence. The office will be headed by seasoned investment banker and transatlantic specialist Michael W. Ernestus, who will strengthen and grow ACXIT’s international corporate & tech business.
Dr. Ernestus brings with him vast experience as an investment banker and private equity investor, in particular in transatlantic transactions between the United States and Europe. In his long and successful career, Dr. Ernestus has served both as financial advisor and as investor on each side of the Atlantic. He was a partner at G.C. Andersen Partners, LLC, a premier, New York City based merchant banking partnership, engaged in direct investment, capital raising and advisory activities worldwide.
Prior to that, he was Head of Investment Banking for SBC Warburg, Germany (now UBS, Germany); Executive Director Investment Banking, Salomon Brothers; and Vice President Merchant Banking, Bankers Trust, New York and Deutsche Bank, New York.
In addition, his service on boards of numerous publicly traded and private companies, last as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Demag Cranes AG, and his work in international investment structures, has given him a deep understanding of, and hands-on experience in, both European and U.S. corporate governance and strategic positioning.
Dr. Ernestus will help ACXIT expand its U.S. practice as a premier cross-border advisory and investment banking firm, through both strategic joint ventures and organic growth, in particular for transactions between the U.S. and Europe focusing on complex and digital transformative situations.
Johannes Lucas, Managing Partner of ACXIT Capital Partners: “We are delighted to open our new U.S. office in New York, which is a key step in our international expansion. ACXIT warmly welcomes Michael as head of its U.S. practice – as a seasoned, truly global leader, we are convinced that Michael will strongly foster our comprehensive cross-border advisory business.”
Dr. Michael Ernestus commented: “I have had the pleasure over the past years, beginning with my position at SBC Warburg, to work in various constellations with several members of the ACXIT team. They have always shown a high degree of professionalism and an excellent work ethic and I am highly confident that together we will deliver high quality corporate finance expertise to our transatlantic clientele, and expand the ACXIT network through both U.S. joint ventures and organic growth.”
Andreas Thümmler, Managing Partner of ACXIT Capital Partners added: “Having known Michael for many years and looking back on our successful joint transactions, we are delighted to welcome Michael as head of our new U.S. practice. In addition to his vast network and deal experience, he brings in a deep understanding of cultural differences in management procedures and corporate strategies. Based in New York, he will play a pivotal role in the expansion of our U.S. corporate and technology business.”
