Deloitte acted as exclusive financial advisor to the insolvency administrators Volker Böhm and Dr. Elske Fehl-Weileder (both Schultze & Braun Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft für Insolvenzverwaltung mbH) on the sales process of ATP Auto-Teile-Pöllath Group (“ATP”), a German online retailer of automotive spare parts, to Swiss Automotive Group AG (“SAG”), the Switzerland-based retail group of automotive spare parts.
About the transaction
The interdisciplinary Deloitte team, led by Götz Grundmann and Dr. Thomas Sittel together with Andreas Kopp, Julius Karp, Julia Schindler and Tobias Henkel, has successfully advised the insolvency administrators on the sales process of ATP to SAG. The sale process included all assets of the company.
ATP is headquartered in Kirchenthumbach, Germany. The company sells automotive spare parts, both from renowned brands as well as own brands, via its ebay stores and its own website. Products include spare and wear parts, care and chemicals products as well as electronics and automotive accessories. ATP’s customers are individual persons as well as small repair shops. The company operates a state-of-the-art logistics center in Pressath, Northern Bavaria and currently employs approximately 250 employees, generating a revenue of approx. EUR 110m in the fiscal year 2018.
Deloitte demonstrated strong execution capabilities throughout this time-critical insolvency transaction. The Deloitte teams from Corporate Finance Advisory and Restructuring Services jointly supported the insolvency administrators and ATP by setting up a structured, international sales process. Deloitte’s in-depth industry expertise as well as its fully integrated service portfolio maintained momentum throughout the entire sales process and ensured a smooth, efficient and successful cross-border transaction.
The transaction was signed on May 8, 2020.
