POELLATH advises Avira on acquisition of BullGuard

AVIRA has acquired BullGuard, London. Both companies are now part of Norton-LifeLock. The two companies have thus more than 50 years of experience in cyber-security.

Avira is a multinational provider of software solutions for cyber security and anti-virus programs; the company is headquartered in Tettnang, Baden-Württemberg. Avira serves both the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and consumer end markets and it protects over 500 million end devices worldwide. The company was founded in 1986 and focuses on anti-malware, threat intelligence and IoT solutions. The Avira software protects against viruses and malwares and provides security to the users for online identity, finances and other private data.

BullGuard was founded in 2002 in Copenhagen/Denmark and has in the meantime eight subsidiaries throughout Europe, Australia and the USA. The product portfolio extends to PC, Mac, tablet and smartphone protection, and features a comprehensive product suite, including internet security, mobile security, identity protection, an easy-to-use VPN with military grade encryption and BullGuard Small Office Security, a dedicated, cloud-managed end-point service designed specifically for small offices
