OMMAX supported Afinum, a mid-market PE fund, on the sale of Perfect Drive Sports Group, the leading European golf e-commerce group with its brands “All4Golf” and “Clubhouse Golf”.
After previously supporting Afinum with the acquisition of Clubhouse Golf in 2020, OMMAX cooperated with Afinum in several digital value creation initiatives, ultimately supporting the fund in the highly successful sale of Perfect Drive Sports Group with a commercial vendor due diligence.
The shift in consumption habits from brick-and-mortar to e-commerce retail provides an attractive opportunity for the ‘state-of-the-art’ digital player in the German-speaking and UK golf markets, allowing it to establish a strong e-commerce business that engages with customers through all relevant digital channels.
Leveraging on the robust yearly growth of digital search volume for golf-related keywords (+40% in the UK and +22% in Germany) from 2018-20, Perfect Drive Sports Group was able to efficiently boost website traffic and keep its strong conversion rates across entities, outperforming industry benchmarks. With scaling efforts in digital marketing campaigns and increase in organic visibility in its core markets, the group is expected to further benefit from the growing search volume.
